The School of Music was established in May 2015 and was awarded a master's degree in April 2018. Enrollment began in 2019, and the school has a first level discipline master's degree program in "130100 Art Studies" and a professional master's degree program in "135200 Music". It has both academic and professional graduate training systems and is an important applied and theoretical music talent training base in Zhejiang Province, with distinctive educational characteristics. There are currently 58 faculty members and 52 professional teachers, including 34 teachers with doctoral degrees. It is a young and promising teaching staff. At present, there are 5 national key courses and 7 provincial key courses. In 2022, they won 3 second prizes of the first National Excellent Textbook Award, the first prize of Zhejiang Province Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, and the second prize of 2023 National Excellent Teaching Achievement Award.

1. The research direction of Chinese music includes fields such as Chinese music history, traditional Chinese music theory, and musicology. This direction is based on the history of Chinese music and features "intangible cultural heritage" music and music theory from Zhejiang Province. Over the years, it has condensed its disciplinary direction, accumulated teaching and research teams in this field, and formed its own disciplinary characteristics and advantages.

Composition and Technical Theory Direction: This discipline covers composition theory and creation, with a focus on Western and traditional Chinese performance techniques, as well as research and teaching of traditional Chinese techniques, especially "intangible cultural heritage" music expression techniques.
